Aaron Jones created history for USA cricket by chasing down the third-most-highest run in T20 World Cup history. Jones individually scored 94 runs in just 43 balls, which was enough to beat down Canada.

In the opening match USA vs CAN of the T20 World Cup 2024, Cricket fans witnessed the iconic run chase by the USA. Canada did everything it could to win but they failed to stop the storm called Aaron Jones.

Both Canada openers set the stage for the middle-order batsmen. Both openers played aggressive cricket from starting. As a result, Navneet Dhaliwal scored his first World Cup fifty for Canada in just 39 balls. Aaron Johnson also played a supportive innings for his team, as he contributed with 23 run in just 16 balls.

Early wicket for Canada, got the early wickets of two openers

Canada got their first wicket, Steven Taylor departed early in this match. Kaleem Sana picked up the first wicket for Canada.

Monank Patel struggled to middle the ball with the bat as he departed after Steven scored just 16 runs. USA  seemed in the back seat, for a while. Canada already started celebrating their first victory in the World Cup.

Andries Gous and Aaron Jones steal the show

After the early two wickets USA looked scattered, but there was a twist in this match. Andries Gous & Aaron Jones started the counter-attack on Canadian bowlers. With their aggressive batting, Canada slipped the match from their grip. Andries and Aaron built a hundred-run partnership for USA, in this opening match.

Anderies Gous scored 65 in just 46 balls with a strike rate of 414.30. He smashed 7 fours and 3 sixes. This showed maturity and also set an example that you can score runs by boundaries also, with 4s no need to take risks, risk-free cricket.

Aaron Jones Hit 10 sixes highest for an individual in this USA vs CAN opening match. He smashed 60 runs with boundaries only, including 10 sixes and 4 fours.
