Fans are going crazy to get tickets for the tournament because it will be the legend’s last one. Because to Nadal’s partnership with Alcaraz, tickets on official outlets were sold out weeks ago. However, resellers have experienced a sharp increase in pricing after the retirement announcement.
The price on Viagogo has risen to 34500 Euros, or roughly ₹31 lakh.
Nadal posted a video on social media to announce his retirement, saying, “I’m here to let you know that I am retiring from professional tennis.” The reality is that it has been some trying years, these last two especially. I don’t think I have been able to play without limitations. It is certainly a difficult decision, one that has taken me some time to make.”
But everything in this life has an end, and I believe that now is the right moment to call it quits on a career that has lasted longer and been far more successful than I ever could have dreamed.
However, I am thrilled to be playing in my nation’s final Davis Cup match as my final tournament. I guess I’ve come full circle, as one of my first major delights as a professional tennis player was the Davis Cup final in Seville in 2004.”
In the singles category, Rafael Nadal has held the top spot for 209 weeks and has five times at the conclusion of the year. In addition to his record-breaking 14 French Open trophies, he has won 22 Grand Slam singles titles.
