INDW came to bat with their opening pairs Smriti Mandhana & Shafali Verma. Despite being a quick start, steady Bangladesh Women picked up their first wicket as Smriti Mandhana departed early. She looked solid with the bat but unfortunately got out. She scored 9(9) with two 4S.
Shafali and Yastika’s Partnership put INDW back on track
After wicket, Shafali and Yastika built a solid, needed 50 runs partnership between them.
INDW middle order showed maturity in tense situation
Despite being falling wickets INDW’s middle order holds the responsibility to stabilize the innings and accelerate when needed, experienced players like Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma, and Richa Ghosh’s responsibility anchored the middle overs and built a strong total. Bangladesh used their local conditions very well, continuously bowled on a good length and areas put INDW under pressure as a result INDW was only able to score 39 runs in power-play overs.

BANW came to bat, but in front of India’s experienced bowling line, they struggled to settle with bat. As they lost their first wicket in first, INDW struck very early and very well. With consistent bowling, INDW picked up three wickets inside the power-play.
Within 14 overs INDW sent half of Bangladesh’s team back to the dressing room. Bangladesh looked in deep trouble, they couldn’t build a partnership in between.
Bangladesh’s fragile middle-order batting

In another commanding display of skill and strategy, India secured victory in the T20I series against Bangladesh with a resounding seven-wicket win, leaving two matches to spare.
In this match hosted by Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, on Thursday 2nd May, the whole world witnessed a well-disciplined performance with batting and bowling, by India Women.
No- doubt it was a powerful, dominant batting showcased by India’s Top-order batters. Well executed plan by Shefali Verma, & Smriti Mandhana, both openers started attacking from 1st ball, this furious approach pushed Bangladesh into downstairs.
Bangladesh’s bowlers failed with their plan, as Shafali Verma emerged as the star with the bat for India, delivering a scintillating performance by smashing a 38-ball 51 and on the other hand, Smriti Mandhana supported her well, with a valuable 47 off 42.
These two openers built a winning partnership of 91 runs which effectively dismantled Bangladesh’s bowling attack, guiding India towards the target with ease.
Opted to bowl first after winning the toss, India’s bowlers exhibited remarkable control, with each of them maintaining an economy rate of 6.5 or below. Despite this controlled bowling attack, Bangladesh couldn’t runs too much, as they are only able to score of 117/8, setting the stage for India’s pursuit.
This victory not only showed how disciplined and controlled both batting and bowling departments but also highlights the team’s cohesive and determined effort on the field. With this dominating win India not only sealed this in the pocket but also sent a strong message to their opponents, for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup, 2024.

India Women won all the matches with their same winning Xi, this was the last and final match for the India Women Tour of Bangladesh 2024, 5 T20I series.
India Women won all the matches with their same winning Xi, in Chattogram on Thursday (May 9). Led by spinners Radha Yadav and Asha Sobhana, India showcased their dominance once again, securing a convincing 21-run win to complete a flawless 5-0 series whitewash, India Women Tour of Bangladesh 2024, 5 T20I series.
By opting to bat first India faced an early setback as opener Shafali Verma, was dismissed very early, inside the power-play overs. But Smriti Mandhana’s aggressive batting approach by putting on reman every spinner. she made 33 of 25, not only rescued India but also set a platform for middle order batters.
Dayalan Hemalatha 33 of 25 and Harmanpreet Kaur 30 of 24, both chose the same dominating approach, they built a crucial 60-run partnership with a healthy strike rate.
Despite the fury boundaries and rock-solid partnership India totally encountered as wickets fell in quick succession towards the latter part of the innings. At last Richa Ghosh’s unbeaten cameo of 28 runs off 17 balls propelled India past the 155-run mark, and helped to set a challenging target for Bangladeshi Batters.
In response, Bangladesh’s chase faltered early as Titas Sadhu struck in her very first over, claiming the crucial wicket of Sobhana Mostary.
In searching for boundaries Sobhana Mostary went after the outside off delivery, but couldn’t as she gave her wicket within 2.4 overs. Bangladesh lost the momentum after this wicket.
Radha Yadav took three quick wickets of Dilara Akter, Rubya Haider, & Nigar Sultana. Though Rubya Haider succeeded in contributing of small 20 of 21 balls, helped Bangladesh to reach 136.
Unfortunately for Bangladesh, they had no answers once spin was introduced.
Ritu Moni (37 off 33) and Shorifa Khatun (28* off 21) offered some resistance down the order. Unfortunately their efforts nothing to be proved but just minimized the damage as they couldn’t touch the finish line.
