England’s openers came on to the crease, Phil Salt & the skipper Jos Buttler. Both knew that weather conditions were not good if rain came then Pakistan could win the match with DLS. Keep in that mind England started playing aggressive cricket.
Both Salt & Buttler smashed Pakistan bowlers in the first 6 overs. Phil Salt played with a strike rate of 187. Both of them built 50 runs of 1st wicket partnership, as a result, England almost chased 78 runs, half of the runs to win.
Vintage Jonny is back
Bairstow looked a little bit off in the 3rd T20i ENG vs PAK. But in this match, he just nailed it!! he smashed back-to-back sixes in Shadav Khan’s over, felt like he is back.
Jonny’s Batting form is the most necessary thing from England’s point of view. He proved his position in number 4th position as well with his firecracker batting performance just before the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
ENG vs PAK, Haris Rauf The alone warrior
Only Haris Rauf was able to pick 3 wickets for Pakistan, he got the wickets of the top-order batsman, England.
Though Shaheen Afridi couldn’t pick wickets he was very economical as he conceded only 20 runs within his first three overs.
Babar’s Poor Captaincy
Since Babar was captain of team Pakistan, he was very successful as captain for his right decisions at the right time. But in this ENG vs PAK, 4th T20i Babar seemed a little bit off as a captain though he scored 36 runs in 22 balls but could do too much as a captain.
On the same pitch when Pakistan batted it seems to be a bowling pitch & England’s pacers swing the ball very well.
But Pakistan’s pacers couldn’t use the condition same as England. Babar seemed to depend only on Spinners. That wasn’t a bad decision because in the first innings England’s spinners picked up five wickets.
But at that time the pitch was dry, and when England came to bat a little bit of rain happened with drizzling. So, there is no use for spinners on that slow pitch, Buttler & Salt both can play spin really well. We noticed this in IPL 2024 as well.
Pakistan’s spinners gave 20 runs in 3 overs with no wickets. Babar could have one more over to Afridi & Shadab cause they bowled well.
