After winning the toss Pakistan chose to bowl first. Mohammad Amir returned to the Pakista’s side after a long gap. This could be a great comeback for Amir, in ICC T20 World Cup, 2024.
From England’s point of view, all players are in great form through the IPL season, unfortunately, they had to leave their teams just before playoffs, due to the National Duty. Like Amir, Jofra Archer also returned after injuries.

After the quick dismissal of Phill Salt, Buttler continued to counter-attack the opponents. As a result, Buttler With his 16 runs-short innings from his century not only maintained the run rate but also, scored 84 of 51 balls with a strike rate of 164.
Will Jacks played supportive innings with Buttler of 37 runs and built a much-needed partnership after Phill’s wicket.
Great Comeback by Pakistan Bowlers as they end the struggle of Baristow
Bairstow scored one of the great centuries in IPL against KKR, the champions of IPL 2024, after Bairstow couldn’t contribute too much with his bat. However, his on-and-off-batting form raised many concerns as he continued to play big shots against Pakistan also.
With the dominance of Buttler that was a time when fans thought that England could cross 200 easily, but Pakistan bowlers made a great comeback.
Imad Wasim, Haris Rauf, & Shaheen Afridi picked up a bunch of wickets one after one. First Haris got the big wicket of Jos Buttler, then England’s middle order subber to stand out against Pakistan’s bowling.
As a result, Pakistan was able to stop England in just 183 after 20 overs.
ENG vs PAK: Pakistan Openers Upset the Crowd
When Pakistan came to bat, they just slipped away from their target and threw their two wickets early. Rizwan and Ayub failed to give a good start and put Pakistan in the back seat.
Both these Openers Scored only 2 runs “0” for Rizwan and “2” for Ayub. All Pakistan’s supporters were silenced after their dismissal.
Babar & Zaman Pulled back Pakistan’s innings
Babar Azam & Fakhar Zaman built a a much-needed partnership of 67 runs, which gave oxygen to Pakistan Fans in this ENG vs PAK 2nd T20.
Babar Azam played an anchoring role, with a strike rate of 123 & on the other hand Fakhar Zaman played aggressive cricket with a strike rate of 212. England’s bowlers desperately wanted to out these duo.
As Moeen Ali trapped Babar in his spin, he gave Pakistan breath relief. But Fakhar Zaman was still on the crease and continued his dominant cricket.
In 12.3 overs Livingstone got the big wicket of Fakhar Zaman. England started their celebration.
Pakistan Showed a give-up attitude with their tailenders
Pakistan almost lost their hope of winning but a surprising package was still left as their tail-enders batted with full efficiency in this ENG vs PAK 2nd T20.
Imad Wasim & Iftikhar Ahmed built a solid partnership of 40 runs, which was one of the highest 7th-wicket partnerships for Pakistan.
Imad scored 22 of 13 balls and Iftikhar Ahmed scored 23 runs off 17 balls, in the end, that was a brilliant effort by Pakistan’s team. They showed a never-give-up attitude which was also great in terms of the T20 ICC World Cup, 2024.
