SRH Chased 215 against Punjab Kings,will face KKR on May 21, Tue

Subrisers Hyderabad chased down 215 in a match against no 9th Punjab Kings. Abhishek Sharma played a winning knock of 66(28). Two uncapped youngsters Prabhsimran Singh, & Atharva Taide played impactful innings, but unfortunately, their innings will not count as a winning cause. 

Prabhsimran Singh, & Atharva Taide’s partnership helped Punjab Kings to tide 215 run knot for SRH

In the absence of Sam Curren Punjab Kings went with their new captain Jitesh Sharma, after winning the toss Punjab Kings elected to bat first.

In two previous matches, Hyderabad’s pitch behaved differently. Punjab’s batters use the condition very well, from starting their aggressive batting approach put SRH in the back seat. 

SRH bowlers couldn’t find any solution for Prabhsimran Singh, & Atharva Taide. These two uncapped Indian youngsters smashed SRH bowlers everywhere. 

They didn’t deal only with boundaries, they took quick singles and doubles in between, which showed their maturity in batting.

Prabhsimran Singh jumped down toward the Bhubaneswar Kumar and smashed a straight drive, in the first over, which was impressive.

Both the Right & Left-handers put the highest opening partnership for 97 runs.

Prabhsimran Singh scored 71 of 45 balls with almost a half-dozen sixes and seven fours, Prabhsimran is at his best this season so far.

How Atharva Taide batted didn’t seem this was the first match for him, in IPL. With his debut, he proved himself well with 46 of 27 balls and missed his maiden half-century in IPL.

Must say both these batters entertained the crowd with firecrackers, and full paisa wasool.

Explosive Travis Head gone for a duck

In IPL 2024, SRH set a benchmark every time when they batted first, broke all boundaries with their explosive batting line-up.

IPL 2024 will be known for the explosive season, specially SRH will be the highest contributor.

Travis Head & Abhishek are the main pillars of SRH’s success. These two left-handers showed other teams how to play in powerplay.

Travis Head & Abhishek Sharma scored 697 runs and counting as opening partnership in this IPL 2024. Most successful opening pairs ever for SRH. 

Fans waiting for their fireworks again, but with the first ball, Travis Head bowled without scoring a single run. With this wicket, the orange crowd was silent for some while.

Abhishek Sharma’s energetic 66 of 28 secured the victory for SRH

After Travis Head’s dismissal, SRH looked fumbled and shattered. But Abhishek played with a brave heart and led SRH to the winning line.

Punjab Kings bowled well in the first 2 overs, after that they found no clue to stop this Abhishek Strom.

Abhishek did the damage with his bat already, he scored 66 of 28 runs, this inning reminded the innings against Mumbai Indians which looked like copy-cut-paste. A Sharma just recalled himself directly from that match against Punjab Kings. 

Later Rahul Tripathi joined the party with A Sharma.

SRH found their missing link in no 3, with Rahul Tripathi and Nitish Reddy

Rahul Tripathi wasn’t selected in the playing XI for SRH in previous matches.

After T Head’s wicket no one would expect that kind of fiery innings from Rahul Tripathi, he continued the momentum with a devastating batting effort. 

Rahul maintained well the momentum with a good strike rate. He played good cricketing shots backed up his strength and seemed dealing with boundaries.

Rahul Tripathi scored 33 of 18 balls with two sixes and 4 fours. But he got out in 4.6 overs, till that time he already destroyed the Punjab Kings, mentally.

Nitish Reddy could be the next fast-bowling all-rounder for Team India. In SRH vs Punjab Kings, though he gave 54 runs in his 3 overs spell, but impressed with his batting. Support A Sharma and Klaasen well to build a partnership.

Nitish Kumar Reddy scored a useful 37 of 25 balls against Punjab Kings.

Heinrich Klaasen gave the finishing touched

Heinrich Klaasen as usual did the rest of the job for his team. classic Klaasen played a 46 of 26knock against Punjab Kings, that was enough to finish the job.

He said “I haven’t hit it nicely over this period of time,” Klaasen said after the game. “So I went back into the nets to try and figure it out, and got something that helped. And I finally hit one or two today that put a smile on my face.”

He asked about his uncertain dismissal, and Klaasen replied “

“I haven’t looked at the ball at all. And I was moving way too much. And then I found something. I challenged myself in the nets against the other guys, the spinners. And all of a sudden, everything just clicked again.

“So I just went back to the basics of standing dead still, watching the ball, and just reacting. And finally, it came, so I’m very pleased.”

Heinrich Klaasen scored 483 runs with an average of 42.33 followed by an explosive Strike Rate of 183.

SRH vs Punjab Kings In Brief::

Punjab Kings Won the toss and elected to bat first. Two uncapped Indian youngsters played a 97-run opening partnership for PBKS. CaptainJitesh Sharma Played 32(15), captain’s knock.

Punjab Kings Set a target of 215 after 20 overs.

In the first Over SRH lost their first wicket as T Head gone for a duck. A Sharma & Rahul Tripathi built 72 runs for 3rd wicket partnership inside powerplay.

Nitish Reddy, & Heinrich Klaasen finished the rest of the jobs. SRH chased down the 215 target with 5 balls remaining.

SRh secured the 2nd spot in the Table, and will face KKR on 21st May, in Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
